“Spirit Dog was created after Mali, our Rhodesian Ridgeback of 11 
years, died in the Fall of 1999.  A couple of weeks before Mali passed on we went for a walk along a sandy road in the woods. At the end of our walk Mali was enjoying the outing in the woods so much that she didn’t want to go home. She lay down in the warm sand listening intently to the squirrels chattering high overhead. I snapped a photo of her that became the basis of the painting. As a tribute to Mali, I painted her portrait calling it "Spirit Dog".The purpose of creating this limited edition, signed and number print is to help raise money for Rhodesian Ridgebacks in need.” - Bill Thompson
